Tomorrow is the day

So tomorrow il recive the resistors that i need to get going on the project. il then try to read the gps signals and move some servos based on the position of the unit.

Then if all goes well il post some schematics and a video. Also i will have the story of How i got started and how you can do the same.

So hang tight for Tomorrow is the day and im looking forward to it.

Well im stuck and can't get going before i recive some more parts. But il be sure to let you know when they arrive.

Progres continues! or not.

So i have now recived another order of electronic components. This time i also got the GPS reciver but since im missing som resitors and transistors im stuck until monday.

I also recived the microprosessor PIC18f4550 wich is more powerful and supports usb. Also i got a new breadboard and alot of other standards electronics stuff.

The next week i will write about how i got started and how little u actully have to know before u can set sail on the world of electronics.

So far i have done nothing cool with the pic16f690 other than getting some serial com working and creating a menu. But il post some more details and a little video when i get the rest of my parts so i get something more interesting.

RS232 IS WORKING!

I got the serial communication working and got to control a servo. The reson i did not get it up and running was that i mixed some cabels up and forgot to connect the ground. For those that know what im talking about, is "roflmao" right now.

So im going to post some pictures and maybe a little video of the current progress and it will be this weekend. So to all u followers, if any. Stay tuned for alot more fun stuff.

Well i was supose to get out some pictures yesterday but i got drunk:S

Some friends asked if i wanted to go out and i couldn't just say no, but here iam and working with the serial connection, i cant figure out why it's not working. Can't say that alot of people is reading this blog, but il keep it up just for self reference.

So i will put out some pictures today, just gotta recharge the camera.

Sleepy!

After 8 long houres i got somewhere but not that far. Forgot to read the shematics sheet on the max232 chip and finally when i got it working i could not get it to send out the right text!

So back to the drawing board and figuring out WHY!
I'l post some pictures with the equipment when i get home from work.

Progress!!!!

Well the project is moving forward!

I have gotten some changes on the blog template and it’s coming together. But for more important news I have started to learn electronics to be able to build a PCB that will control the balloon.

Tomorrow I get a lot of electronic tools and equipment. So hopefully I’ll get some serial communications going and control some of the servos I got laying around.
